    How to Avoid International DeclinesInternational transactions and purchases in foreign currency are the most common causes of declined card transactions. Most of the time, international transactions are declined for your benefit only. For the bank, a sudden international transaction may seem suspicious. For you, a declined international transaction can mean unnecessary hassle and concern. But such rejections can be avoided with a few simple corrective measures and by keeping a few things in mind.

    Inform the Bank - You can ensure that your genuine international transactions using HDFC Bank cards are not declined by following the simple steps.

    Through HDFC Bank NetBanking:
    1. Go to the NetBanking page https://netbanking.hdfcbank.com/netbanking/ and enter your customer ID and password
    2. Select the “Credit Card” section,
    3. Expand and choose your credit card,
    4. In “International Travel”, click on the “Manage” link,
    5. Provide your emergency contact details in India, name of the destination country, from and to dates, and destination country contact number,
    6. In case of multi-country travel, add “destination” and required details,
    7. Click on “Confirm”
    How to enable international card controlsIf you are travelling overseas, chances are that your Credit Card will not be of any use anyway. Surprised? That’s because all Credit Cards are, by default, deactivated for international use. So, the first thing that you need to do before embarking on a foreign trip is to activate international transactions on your credit card!

    There are seversal ways through which you can enable your International transaction:-

    NetBanking
    1. Go to the NetBanking page https://netbanking.hdfcbank.com/netbanking/ and enter your customer ID and password,
    2. Go to the “Credit Card” section and expand it,
    3. Choose your credit card appearing in this section,
    4. Click on the “Customise” button appearing next to the “Limits and Restrictions” section,
    5. Change “International Usage” from Off to On,
    6. Choose the channel where the confirmation OTP will be sent (phone, email or both),
    7. Provide the OTP to confirm the update.


    MyCards
    MyCards is HDFC Bank’s one-stop shop for managing your Credit Card.
    1. Log in to https://mycards.hdfcbank.com/ through your registered mobile number.
    2. Once you enter the OTP received on your mobile, enter the last four digits of your credit card
    3. On Credit Card Homepage, click on Card Control tab
    4. Check your “International Usage”,
    5. You can turn it On and tap the “Update” button at the bottom of the page,
    6. You will need to provide an OTP to authenticate the update.


    EVA
    1. Click here https://resu.io/ZPCKZ7 to open HDFC Bank's Digital assistant
    2. Click on "Manage my Credit Card" followed by "Card Control"
    3. Enter your registered mobile number,
    4. Enter the OTP received on the mobile number,
    5. EVA will ask for the last four digits of your credit card,
    6. You will find the options of “ATM Withdrawal Transactions”, “Online E-Commerce Transactions”, “Merchant Outlet POS Transaction”, and “Contactless Transactions”
    7. Enable "International" on the relevant usage service and click on "Proceed" to confirm the update.
    1.Promotion is only valid from 20th Dec 2024 to 31st Jan 2025 (both dates inclusive)
    2.The Promotion is only available on transactions made at all point-of-sale terminals (not online) outside India in foreign currency (not INR) ("Eligible Transaction) 
    3.Promotion Cardholder who sucessfully transact 3 transactions of US$100 or equivalent (“Qualifying Promotion Cardholder”) is entitled to a one-time 100% waiver Upto Rs 1,000 only. Customers who have their GVP (Global Value Program) subscription active during the offer period, will not be eligible for the offer.
    4.Offer is applicable to the first 50,000 Qualifying Customers on first come first serve basis only.
    5.The relevant cashback amount shall be credited into the account of the Qualifying Promotion Cardholder latest by 30th April 2025.
    6.Card Holder will be eligible for the offer only if transactions are completed during the offer period.
    7.Returned purchases, disputed or unauthorized/fraudulent transactions and card membership fees will not be considered for this offer.
    8.Offer is not valid on cash withdrawal and loan products like, Cash-on-Call, Balance Transfer, Balance Transfer on EMI, Personal Loan on Credit Card, etc.
    9.HDFC Bank Cardholders are not bound in any way to participate in this offer. Any participation is voluntary and the offer is being made purely on a 'best effort' basis.
    10.This offer is non-convertible to either cash or alternate products, not extendable and non-negotiable.
    11.ATM withdrawal will not be considered for the offer.
    12.Classification of a retail transaction (Foreign Currency or Indian Currency, POS or Online) will be defined by Visa and the same will be used for the bonus cashback posting.
    13.In case the Cardholder cancels any transaction/s due to which he/she has qualified for the offer, then the Cardholder is not eligible for the offer. For partial refunds in case customer's remaining balance does not qualify for the required benchmark amount then customer will no longer be eligible for the offer. 
    14.Card Holder/s whose account has been classified as delinquent before or during the currency of the Program, or when the gift is to be collected, will not be eligible for the benefits of the Program.
    15.If the Cardholder ceases to be the Cardholder/s at any time during the Program period, all the benefits under the Program shall lapse and shall not be available to the Cardholder/s.
    16.HDFC Bank shall not be liable in any manner whatsoever for any loss/ damage/ claim that may arise out of use or otherwise of any goods/ services availed of by the Cardholder/s under the Program.
    17.HDFC Bank shall not be liable in any manner whatsoever if customers transaction fails due to technical issue. 
    18.HDFC Bank reserves the right to disqualify/ exclude any merchant establishment and/or Cardholder/s from the Program if any fraudulent activity is identified as being carried out for the purpose of availing the benefits under the Program or otherwise by use of the Card.
    19.This Offer shall be subject to all applicable laws, rules and regulations which are in existence and which may be promulgated anytime by any statutory authority.
    20.HDFC Bank reserves the right, at any time, without prior notice and without assigning any reason whatsoever, to add/alter/modify/change or vary all of these terms and conditions or to replace, wholly or in part, this offer by another offer, whether similar to this offer or not, or to extend or withdraw it altogether.
